An agriculturist, that back to back worked as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab for 6 terms during 1985-88, 1988-90, 1990-93, 1993-96, 1997-99 and also 2002-07; as well as worked as Minister for Revenue, Minister forIrrigation & Power, Minister of Information, Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Education, Minister for Food, Minister for Health and also as Special Assistant to Chief Minister and Member of Public Accounts Committee during these periods. He has actually gone back to the Punjab Assembly for the 7th term in general elections 2013 and is functioning as Chairman, Committee on Privileges. He has taken a trip to UK, USA, and Iran on main checkouts as well as checked out Malaysia during1996 to participate in 42nd CPA Conference.
